In Class we we are learning...

Cross-Curricular Theme

Reduce, reuse, recycle.

Our theme next term is Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. We would like you to design either a new recycling sign/symbol or an invention to help with recycling or reducing the rubbish in the local environment.

Religious Education

 Places of worship

Children will find out about various places of worship.

SEAL(Social and Emotional aspects of Learning)

 Literacy

Children will be writing a book review of Handas Surprise, as well as researching Africa as the setting for the story. Children will also begin to look at how they can adapt the story in order to write their own story in the final week of this term.

Spellings will be on the website from the week beginning 14th May, click here to see the spellings page.

Reading

If you would like more books to read at home, you can access many different fiction and non-fiction texts by following this link :http://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/Library/Index/?AgeGroup=4

You can choose the age range, play the story with sound or let your child read to themselves. This is a brilliant way of practising reading.

Numeracy

This week children will be looking at measure. Children will use standard and non-standard forms of measure and choose appropriate units of measure for different objects.
